I think a poem will help him realise that quitting smoking is best for him and all of us!. Maybe a poem that tells him from his point of view or the future his life will be if he continues to smoke!. What a great young person you must be!. I smoked for years, and was bugged by my wife and daughters, that just don't help!. I quit on a bet, and it was hard to do, and I am glad that I quit, and wish I had sooner, I know just to many people that have shortened their lives from smoking!. Don't bug your Father, but support him if he really does try, don't get mad but when the smoke is real bad and it is causing you a problem, raise your voice and tell him that you love him and want him around to enjoy his Grand kids, and watch them grow as well even though that will be in the future!.

the thing is does your father smoke in your presence!? And if he does, does he realize the effect on your present and future health as well!? Most smokers could care less about their own health not to mention who they expose to the carcinogens!. Ask your father if he has a cancer insurance policy!. If he says why, just tell him you want him to be able to pay the bills when he is laid up in the hospital with lung cancer!.!.!.maybe he will think about that!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't have a poem for you, but I just wanted to say I know exactly how you feel!. Both my parents smoke, and it's been hard growing up with them smoking!. I remember when I was five I wrote to Santa Claus (not knowing he was my parents) asking for them to quit smoking!. I was so disappointed when they didn't!. Lately they've been better, especially my mom!. I understand completely how dificult it is to deal with your parents smoking!. They always say they're going to quit, but never follow through with it!. It's another huge disappointment every time they give up!.

I think you need to TELL him, flat-out, how you feel!. The other night my mom and I got into a huge fight!. It wasn't about her smoking, but it led to that!. I ended up screaming, "I hate that you smoke! I don't want you to die!" I think that hit her harder than me asking her nicely to quit ever did, because it totally opened her eyes!. The next morning, she gave me her full box of cigarettes and told me to break all them in half and throw them out!. She also made me hide her lighter!. I don't want to get my hopes up, but think maybe I finally got through to her and she'll be quitting for good this time!.

So, as I said, I think you need to be blunt and honest with your dad!. Don't try to scare him with statistics, like this many people die every day from smoking!. Just tell him your true feelings in the most open and honest way you can, and ask him to understand how hard it is for you!. He'll see how much it affects you and hopefully he'll realize he needs to quit!.

One more tip!. When he's in the process of quitting, don't harass him about it or get mad every time he messes up!. Just be there for him and be supportive, and show him that you can get him through it!.

Best of luck! <3Www@Answer-Health@Com
