Bit by cat, numbness in finger..Help...?!
Question: Bit by cat, numbness in finger!.!.Help!.!.!.!?
i got between my cats right when they were about to attack each other, i wrapped a towel around my cat to prevent myself from getting bit but the other cat got me on my finger with one of its teeth!. He bit me real deep, instantly my finger went numb and i had this weird pain in my wrist!.
Both cats are healthy, tested for everything but one of them has that cat scratch disease, bartenolla (not sure of spelling) Anyway he's been treated for it, but we still have to recheck in a few months!. He's the one that bit me!.
Its been hours and i still have slight numbness/tingle in my finger but towards the top of it!. I think he pinched a nerve!. Is this serious!? Or will it go away!. I had the vet check him today but he had no symptoms of the disease, but will need bloodwork again in a few months just in case!.!.!.!.!.
If i go to the hospital what will they do that i can do at home!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im not as concerned about cat scratch fever than I am of possible blood poisining!.You see, cat's have bacteria in their paws and mouth!.Allthough harmless to them, it can wreak havok on our bodies!.
These bacteria cause infection!.In turn it is quite possible (more possible than not) to aquire what they call blood poisioning from the intial bite!.Thus leaving it untreated could be fatal or at the least make you quite sick!.
Quick story!.!.!.!. I was bitten by a neighbor car several years back!.Within hours !.!. I lost sensation of the palm of my hand !.I went to the doctor and was told that it is already infected!.They prescribed an antibiotic I could not afford (as I didnt have health insurance) I went home with their instructions and hoped for the best!.
By midnight the bite was oozing puss and I developed a red line traveling up the side of my arm!.By morning I went back and was told that I had the begninning of blood poisining!.At this point the line and made it to my collar bone!.I was told once that line reaches the heart, I would not be here today telling you this story!.
SO, Please have it checked out! If you still dont want to!.!.!.!. Be on the look out for signs of infection!.!.!. Fever ,chills,vomiting,nausea,etc!.As for the injury!.!. be on the lookout for, tenderness,swelling ,puss and redness!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

There are alot of nerves in your hand and writs!. If the cat got you in the right spot it could have knicked your nerve, especially if your saying the cut is real deep!. Theres nothing that you can really do but go to the hospital or doctor so they can rule out nerve damage and the need for surgery to repair it!. If everything shows well you can ice it, and keep it elevated as the swelling may cause more pressure on the irritated nerve!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
happened to my in-law,you said the cat's tested for rabies,ect!.get proof from the vet,then take the cat's med records to the ER,this is so you do'nt get that 16 foot needle in your tummy!.!.they might tell you to soak it in epsom salt,but I'm NOT a doctor,I'd get this over with asap!.a friend of mine,pulled a wire from his wrist as I was going for the first aid kit,I took him to the e!.r!. a year later he still get's the same pain your in,well maybe not the same but anyway!.!?when are ya going in!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
