Help with cold sores???!

you dont get cold sores just from kissing people!. they can be passed through sharing lip gloss or a drink!. sometimes its even ginetic!. for me carmex chapstick in the tube works really good for me!. it gets rid of my coldsores in about 2 days and it keeps them awayWww@Answer-Health@Com

If it actually is a "cold sore" (herpes), then your doctor can prescribe an antiviral cream or tablet to help you get over it quickly!. You should call when you have a sore and have it looked at to be sure!. Several things look like herpes to the lay person!. A doctor can tell you for sure!. You can also find out what triggers the sores (sometimes it's being in the sun, sometimes it's rubbing the site where the outbreaks occur, etc!.) and try to avoid those things!. Also, you can have the medication on hand and use it when you start to feel the signs that you are going to have an outbreak!. Please read the link below and educate yourself!.

PS One of the posts here says to call your doctor for an antibiotic, if the sore hasn't cleared up in a few days!. Herpes is a virus, and an antibiotic is only for bacterial infections, not for virus!. You would only need an antibiotic if the sore also got infected!. Not very likely!. You should call for an antiviral, but have the sore checked first, as other things can look like a herpes sore to nonmedical people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There isn't any way of knowing how you got it!.!.but to prevent it's spread, keep your hands off of it!. Wash your hands and try not to touch it!. If it is seeping it is highly infectious!. Put some campho-phenique on it to releive the pain-itch!. If that doesn't make it feel better and help heal it up in a couple of days-see your doctor- you may need an antibiotic!.
