Depression!? Alcoholism!? Recreational drug use!?

However, it sounds to me as if someone may have sleep apnea!. Symptoms like:Falling asleep while sitting and reading, watching TV, Sitting inactive, in a public place -meeting, church, theater, as passenger in a car for more than an hour without a break, at stop lights, lying down to rest in the afternoon without having had an alcoholic beverage, sitting quietly after lunch, or stopped in traffic!.

Less likely but possible is narcolepsy!.

No, they should get some blood work done and bring this up to a doctor!. There might be a vitamin deficiency, a thyroid problem, depression, etc!.

They might also be sleeping too much!. I know when I sleep too long I am tired all day, but when I sleep only 6 hours a night I have more energy than when I sleep 9 or 10!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This may be confusing, but what this is, is over sleeping!. On average your supposed to get 8-9 hours of sleep!. If you are sleeping more then that, which in your case is probly 12-13 hours, you are over sleeping!. This means your body was in relaxation mod for too long and you arn't being active enough so your body get's tired!. If that makes any sence =PWww@Answer-Health@Com

It might be a thyroid issue!. I would have that checked!. It could also be mono, but that usually happens when you're younger!. Those are really the two conditions that I know anything about!. Definitely go for the thyroid check: it's quick and fairly painless, and pretty darn common in adults!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no!.
it's probable that they are actually getting way too much sleep, which makes them feel sleepier because their body never wakes up properly!.
it will be hard, but cut back the night to around 8 hours and eliminate the naps!. give it a few weeks and see if they are less tired!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
