Question: Is it okay to take Oxycontin (Oxycodone) with Xanax (Alpralozam) together!? If so what dosage!?
I have roughly 15mg of oxycodone and a Alpralozam bar (2mg)!. Thanks to all answers!. Please no answers like "Please dont do it"!. Im in pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Both Oxycontin and Xanax, while in different categories (Opiate and Benzodiapine), are both Central Nervous System depressants and will affect both your brain, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems!. I would never suggest to a patient to mix these two, and please remember that Oxycontin is an extended release drug and should not be taken more often than every 12hrs!. The Xanax you have is the highest dose of Alprazolam that you can take at once and is not going to help your pain, this medication is only indicated for anxiety!. If you are looking for pain relief take the Oxycontin and save the Xanax for another day!. Technically you can take both (I would just lessen the dose of the Xanax), but it is very easy to overdose mixing ANYTHING with Oxycontin and you would be safe to have someone with you at all times to monitor signs of respiratory depression!. If there is ever a question of an overdose, treat it as one because there are is an antidote called Naloxone that can help in that case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
