That's called sleep paralysis!. A normal part of sleep is your brain paralyzing the rest of your body while you sleep, but if it's not wearing off when you wake up then that's a problem!. If it's happening more than once every few months, you can ask your doctor if there is any medication for that!. I've had that happen once or twice - definitely not a fun experience!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've heard the term sleep paralysis as well!. I actually first heard the term when watching a show about alien abductions people reported, and that their experiences were often explained away by the very real phenomenon of sleep paralysis!. When you go into the phase of sleep when you dream, your body paralyzes itself so it doesn't act out the dream!. Occasionally people have the problem that the body doesn't snap out of that when your mind wakes, and you end up with what you're experiencing!. You should talk to your primary care doctor!. They might refer you to a neurologist to do a sleep study to see what is going on!. Other things you can do that can help you when you get to the doctor, do some research on the condidtion so you know what to ask the doctor, and when you do experience this, think back to the night before and see if there is something unusual you did that might trigger this!. Did you have alcohol, take a medication, eat a certain food!? If you figure out something common to these occurances, then maybe you can figure out what triggers them and help to stop them, or limit their frequency!. But you are not experiencing something totally out there, and there are things the doctors can do to help you deal with this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OMGGGGGGG I've been suffering with the EXACT SAME thing since I was very very young!!! Omg I thought I was the only one, I tried explaining it to ppl but they just thought it was a nightmare, but in fact it really wasn't, and it's very very scary! I've been having them since I was like maybe 7 years old and I'm 23 now, thank GOd I haven't had one for almost a year!. I feel paralyzed, like something is pinning me down, and I want to scream out for help, move, NOTHING HAPPENS and I want to cry so bad and I can't breath!. And then finally when I do snap out of it, I'm breathing heavy and if I try to go back to sleep, I feel like it's about to happen again so I quickly get up out of bed and I just stay awake for a few hours because I'm scared it might come back again!. I have been searching about this, searching about why this happens and I don't know, I don't have the answer!. I don't know if you are religous, but my mom tells me to put a bible underneath my pillow and to pray before I sleep!. I have been doing that and thank God nothing !.!.!. I was reading someone else's comment they wrote sleep paralysis, I'm going to research about that and good luck to you !.!.!. I hope it goes away for you I know it's scary lol I am so happy to know that someone else experienced this, I thought it was just me and no one understood :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
