Get several opinions from doctors!. I suffer multiple tears to the miniscus of one knee, and a severed ACL in the other!. I am 50, and have had these problems for many years!. i have never had knee surgery of any type!. The last surgeon I consulted with told me that a knee replacement was due for one of my knees, and the other could be scoped!. He added that once he started doing any type of knee surgery, there was a 100% chance that I would need another in the future!. He advised I wait another 15 years as long as I was still able to walk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
What are the plans during the arthroscopic knee surgery!? If it is a simple debridement, you may need crutches for a few days, but will most likely be able to walk unassisted about a week later!. You will still have intermittent soreness and swelling for several weeks, but physical thearpy for this is simply to restore the mobility of the knee!. The strength comes back pretty well from this!. You should be feeling significantly better within 6-8 weeks, but return to sports might take longer!.
If you're having a more extensive procedure such as mircofracture or ligmentous repair there are a different set of implications!.

Presumably to remove damaged cartilage!. It;s the best op ever, you come out new!.
Always be patient while recuperating, don't rush things!. If you are young, give it 2 weeks (given this is the op you;ll have done), you can start getting up one day after the op!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
