General anesthesia - how safe is it? Have you ever gone under it?!

Question: General anesthesia - how safe is it!? Have you ever gone under it!?
Just would like to hear what people have to say who have had general anesthesia!. I am having a laparoscopic in my abdominal to determin endometriosis!. I am a bit nervous about the anesthesia, the part where they put a tube in your trachea and have a machine breath for you makes me nervous as well!. I would like to hear from people who have had a general anesthesia!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes they do not put the tube in!!!! Much depends on how long they are expected to be and the area of the surgery!. Likewise, your age, you lifestyle habits, your weight and so on!. I went in to have a lump removed from my breast! However I had a skin growth over my right eye, so as they were going to knock me out anyway for the breast, I asked them if they could do the eye!? If it was just the breast, no tube, however as they decided to do the eye, they insisted on the tube as they wanted to keep my airway open while my face was covered with a sheet and the eye exposed!. Nothing to worry about, you are out for the count by the time they get around to placing the tube in and you are still asleep when they remove the tube!. My only complaint: the oxygen mask when you come around, because it is 'cold oxygen' so you know about it!. Wish they would warm it up a bit!
Overall, the mortality rate for general anaesthesia is about five deaths per million anaesthetic administrations!.
