Question: Question for others who may take Imitrex Injections!?
I've already given myself two shots today, which is the max in 24 hours, and still have no relief from pain!. Do you know what the effects may be if I take an Imitrex tablet (50mg) along with the two injections!. Thanks for any help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Be aware; it is *possible* to overdose on Imitrex:
In clinical studies conducted before Imitrex was approved, higher-than-usual doses of Imitrex did not result in any adverse reactions!. However, there have been so few reported cases of an Imitrex overdose that the full effects are not known!.
That being said, it's not likely!. The half-life for Imitrex is 2!.5 hours!. If you've taken two doses in the past 24 hours, taking an Imitrex tablet (50mg) will not hurt you!. As always, I recommend consulting with your phsyician before increasing your dosage of any prescription medication!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My coworker always recommends the following combination for pain relief - caffeine, chocolate (preferably dark), and a short walk in some fresh air!. Don't forget to get plenty of water, too!. PLENTY!. I know this won't cure migraines, but it should help and at least take your mind off the pain a little!.
You may also try adding another pain reliever which will not cause a reaction with the Imitrex!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i was on codeine for twenty years for sinus pain until my hernia 2 years ago!. I had to get off it for a week because it is a blood thinner and i felt better after two days than i had in years
i had been maxing out the daily dosage some days and not taking it at all on good days and I was calling it pain management!.
the regular use of the drug was causing more headaches ultimately than it was curing!. to make it worse i had been taking it for body aches as well so the side effects doubled!.
I'm finally off it again and I havent had a sinus pain since that has rivalled what I had while taking the drug!.
If you suffer from real migraines and the maximum dose if Imitrex isnt helping you shouldnt be able even sit up or have the light on let alone type on a computer!.

I don't know about the Imitrex, but a doctor once told me that when people are in pain they tend to breathe shallowly!.
He said that taking a few deep breaths will help relieve some pain!.
Try taking a couple of deep breaths every few minutes!.
It couldn't hurt!.
