How much is too much water?!


Question: How much is too much water!?
I drink a minimum of 3litres a day!. some days I may even drink up to 8litres!. am I drinking too much water!? is it bad or good for me!?

sometimes after a night of drinking!.!.!.ill wake up from my sleep a few times, and over just a 7hour period I might drink 3litres!.

I can't help it!.lol!. i love water =) I'm afraid I might be flushing out important nutrients though and this could explain why I am always tired, even after a long, long night of sleep!.!.!.!.

A couple of approaches attempt to approximate water needs for the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate!.

Replacement approach!. The average urine output for adults is 1!.5 liters a day!. You lose close to an additional liter of water a day through breathing, sweating and bowel movements!. Food usually accounts for 20 percent of your total fluid intake, so if you consume 2 liters of water or other beverages a day (a little more than 8 cups) along with your normal diet, you will typically replace the lost fluids!.

Dietary recommendations!. The Institute of Medicine advises that men consume roughly 3!.0 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day and women consume 2!.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day!.

Even apart from the above approaches, it is generally the case that if you drink enough fluid so that you rarely feel thirsty and produce between one and two liters of colorless or slightly yellow urine a day, your fluid intake is probably adequate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Excess water is always excreted by the kidneys in a healthy person!.

Excess water is dangerous to anyone who has heart failure (ccf, cor pulmonale)!.!.!. this causes fluid to build in the ankles, thighs/hips/buttocks and sometimes the lungs!.

The kidneys will not allow nutrients to be excreted!.

Drink away but!.!.!.!.!.!.!. 8 litres is a lot!. Anything around 3litres in most people is adequate and good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Haha I am like that too!. No you don't want to drink to much water but your body is obviously telling you that it's thirsty so I think you are ok!. I usually drink 64oz to as much as a gallon!. It also depends on how much exercise you do because you will need more water if you are sweating!. But yeah!.!.!.anyways, hope this helped!.
