Who is responsible?!

Question: Who is responsible!?
My nephew broke his leg quite seriously 3 weeks ago!. He, his mum and little sister live in a block of flats with 7 flights of stairs and no lift!. They are staying with me and my family at the moment because they can't go home as can't get him up the stairs!. This means there is now 10 people in my 3 bed house!. Nobody ie: social services, doctors, health visitors or council wants to know!. What do we do!? They can't stay here as the Consultant thinks it could be up to 18 months before he is able to use the stairs!. He is 8, his sister 6 and single mum!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
hi hunni, maybe your sister should approach the council for a transfer to a house or a ground floor flat!. A letter from your nephew's Orthopeadic consultant might help too!. Social Services could do an assessment to see exactly what your nephew's requirements are, also your sister's GP could add a letter of support too!. Good Luck hunni, I hope your nephew gets better soon, :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thanks for your question!.

I feel there are many issues here!.

Firstly may I say well done for caring for your nephew's family in a time of need!.

May I suggest contact again with the doctor, and the social services!. Explain in detail your circumstances, and await their response!. Be firm with them, but polite, as this can sometimes help!.
Don't take no for an answer!.

If you still have problems contact your local citizens advice bureau, and ask them to help!. they should be able to give you all the help you need!.

I wish you all the best, and hope things get sorted!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

"Nobody ie: social services, doctors, health visitors or council wants to know"!. What reason do they have to care - people breaks their legs every day - why can't he just stay with you and the others go home - 8 is old enough for that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, people break their legs and still have to get up their stairs!. I think you are being taken for a ride by your family!. They dont need to stay with you, they need a carer if anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
