it might be but there is not much you can do if you go to the drs!. they are gunna tell you its broken and send you on our way!. You could go to CVS and buy a finger splint and where it till it gets better!. This protects it and stabalizes it!. And make sure you put LOTS of ice on it every day, it will reduce swelling!. Even if you just jammed it or spraind it, this wouldnt hurtWww@Answer-Health@Com

if it didn't hurt there and then it probably isn't broken I say probably because you may have a hairline fracture along the bone!.

Bend the finger until it starts to hurt if you cannot bend it at all then it is probably fractured or fully broken!.
If however you have reasonable freedom of movement then it is probably fine!.
also a big giveaway is does the finger look odd, by this I mean stumpy or bends slightly off to one side (as opposed to the usual straight finger)!.

hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

if you can move it its not broken, but it is severly bruised and could be a fracture, you need to put a splint on it and keep ice on it 15 min on 15 min off for 24 hours!. keep it wrapped in the splint snug so it cant move but not too tight!. if it doesnt get better you need to see your doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

if its broken, you wouldnt be able to move it and it wouldve hurt right away!. i htink you sprained it or popped it out of place!. thats the same thing that happened with my toe, it looked like a blueberry! keep ice on it but if it bothers you really bad go see a doctor! hope i helped and good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I did that once on a football!. My finger was completely black and swollen!. I went to the doctor for an x-ray and they said it was the worst looking finger to NOT be broken they'd ever seen!. The best thing you can do is go get an x-ray!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

More than likely your finger is broken!. Again you need to go to a doctor to make sure!. If you don't want to go to the doctor go and get a splint at a store!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, judging from these x-rays here, i'd say you have a hairline fracture between the first and second joints!.!.!.!.

go to the doctor!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you can move it, its probably just a sprain!. Double check the doctor though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it's swelling and purple, chances are it's broken!. I'd ask a doctor if I were you though!. it could just be a sprain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
