Answers:
Dental work is not a contraindication to MRI!. If you were having your brain scanned, we would ask you to take out removable dental work (dentures, bridges, or even things like tongue rings)!. Those things can cause an artifact on the images, so if we can remove them, we do!. But, fillings or permanent bridges are not harmed by MRI!. Think of all of the patients who would be excluded from MRI imaging if this were true!.

Since your MRIs are not of the head, the dental work will not be an issue, at all!

"Is It Safe To Have An MRI If I Have Dental Fillings!?

MRI will not affect the fillings!. However, occasionally, the metal within the fillings will distort the images, if the scan is of the facial area!."

"Tooth fillings and braces usually are not affected by the magnetic field but they may distort images of the facial area or brain, so the radiologist should be aware of them!."
