What kind of surgeon operates on an inguinal hernia.?!
Question: What kind of surgeon operates on an inguinal hernia!.!?
What type of surgeon specialises in laproscopic inguinal hernia repairs!. I am trying to look for one that takes my insurance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
General surgeons do this!. Just look up laparoscopic surgeons in your area!. But the fact is (having had such a surgery) not ALL inguinal hernias are best treated via laparoscopy!. [NOTE spelling!.] Some require small 1 1/2 incisions that allow the placement of a plug and mesh repair, which can't be done via the small incisions done by laparocopes!. Defer to your surgeon here: He or she had done MANY such surgeries and understands the likelihood or recurrence or further problems!. For instance, mine suggested the simple surgery rather than the laparoscopic version in order to create a more secure and stable barrier to prevent future ruptures!.
Most insure companies will cover whatever the surgeon recommends according to your particulars: sex, weight, placement, degree of herniation, etc!. Good luck with it all!. It's not as bad as it sounds!. Sort of a short period of lousy pain and discomfort, and then, pretty quickly, a good recover that lets you get back to normal!. YET it takes several months or even a year before the sensation of having a plastic plug and mesh lining in your abdomen goes away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
