Question: Tempurpedic bed fumes harmful to health!?
I heard someone say that Tempurpedic bed foam gives off a fume that is harmful to your health!.
Is this true!?
It does give off an odor, but I have not had any problems with it!.
Will a plastic cover help the fumes/odor!?
Will plastic cover negate the foam benefit of Tempurpedic bed!?

A plastic cover would likely be too noisy and crinkly and could negate the benefits as it can not stretch!. In fact I find that a knit sheet rather than a conventionally stitched sheet can stretch and contour will maximize the contour that the tempurpedic mattress gives!. Regarding the fumes, the odor will subside if it is brand new, but eventually it will start to degrade over time after a few years and start to give off very small amounts of fumes that could be dangerous to you but who knows!. I personally had to get rid of my tempurpedic pillow as it was several years old and starting to give me headaches by the fumes it was giving off!. I still have a foam topper on my bed that doesnt give me any problems as far as headaches!. The pillow causes a problem as my face was right up against it and I would directly inhale any fumes it was giving off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The problem is if it catches fire!. Then it gives off cyanide gas, which is lethal!. So be sure that your smoke detector has good batteries, and don't smoke in bed!. But otherwise, there is no problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
