Question: I just got a new job and took a drug test but!.!.!.!?
in march i had broken my ankle and fractured my lower leg playing softball for my high school (i was sliding to 2nd base) well i had surgery where they put a metal plate in my foot so the week after my surgery they gave me a substitute for vicodine for a pain killer!. I only took it that one week after my surgery but at my job they took a hair sample for my drug test and I was wondering if that would come up possible terminating my job position!. I'm only 16 so I really don't know how it all works so that's why I'm asking!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm unsure whether a narcotic medication will show up in a hair sample, but I guess it's possible!.
HOWEVER, you were on prescribed medication, and a letter from your doctor should explain the situation!. If the test turns up as a positive, ask for a drug urine screen, which will result in a negative reading if you have not used any other drugs!.
I'm not sure what the wrongful dismissal laws are where you live, but I doubt they can terminate you for the use of medically prescribed drugs after surgery!. If you had a physical, did you tell them about the surgery!?
