Prevent calf cramps during a soccer game?!

Question: Prevent calf cramps during a soccer game!?
Background:
I play soccer in a fairly competitive league!. I am 20, in decent shape, and have huge calf muscles!. Last year I experienced an extremely intense calf cramp about every other game which caused me to collapse immediately and be unable to play for about a week!.

The problem:
I have the first game of the season tonight!. I have only bee able to attend 2 light practices and I want to avoid the painful leg cramps!. I realize I have not conditioned myself enough and have probablly set myself up for one but nevertheless!.

This is what I have done to prevent it:
- I took two 650mg calcium/200IU Vitamin D!.
- Ate 2 large banana's
- Drank 3 bottles of water
- I have been lightly stretching out my calfs all day

I intend on extensively stretching out before the game, drinking lots more water and kicking a ball around about 2 hours before game time for about an hour!.

Question (Finally):
Is there anything else I can do to help prevent my calfs from cramping tonight!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
How hot and or humid is the area you are playing in!? This may cause you to lose electrolytes!. Drinking a sports drink during the game is important!. Every time you can think of it take a mouth full or two!. This should help to keep your hydration up!. Stretching before the game is important but only after you have really warmed up!. During the game keep raising the front of your feet towards your knees!. Do this actively it is not a passive movement and it will help to keep the calves loose!. After the game do a really extensive stretch and do it again right before bed!. Most of the time this is from dehydration!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have the same problem!. The best thing to do is one banana a day and stretch every morning!. Same for vitamins!.
Before the game/practice, do a light warm up, then stretch really well!. After the game, do a warm down!. It can just be one run across the field, then stretch again!. If you're sore after, use bengay or something of the sorts after a nice warm bath!.

Good Luck, happy playing!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
