Question: I have a bad urine infection can I get signed off work!?
I am not using it as a feeble excuse, my job involves me travelling over 500 miles a week and Im in such pain and find it uncomfortable to sit down for lengths a time ( my job involves sitting for an hour at a time doing job interviews) I am downing water and constantly need the toilet, when i hold it, im in more pain!. Could I get signed off by the doctor!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes you can get excused from work for a few days until the infection clears up!.
you need to be seen within the next 24-48 hours!! uti's (urinary tract infections) can spread VERY quickly to your bladder and eventually your kidneys which can leave you hospitalized (happened to me twice b/c symptoms didnt show up until it was too late)!.
make an appt right away or go to the nearest urgent care!.
report to the emergency room at once if
-you have severe lower back pain (where your kidneys would be located)
-you are urinating blood (dark or bright red in color-no yellow urine color coming out at all)
-you have nausea/vomiting
-have a fever of 100!.5 or higher
-feel dizzy or confused
these are all signs of a kidney infection and you'll need iv antibiotics right away!.
otherwise, make your appt and drink cranberry juice until you can get in to see the dr!. the natural acids in the juice neutralize the bacteria in your urine, making it less painful to urinate!. it WILL NOT cure the infection though-you still need antibiotics!.
do not hold your urine in-this allows the bacteria to buildup and spread throughout your urinary system

Yes def, I know what it feels like and I feel for you!. I get water infections at least 3 times a year and each time it is agony!.
They can make you really ill, fever, abdominal pain, pain going to the toilet!.
Do not hold it in, no matter what!. This will only worsen the situation bu creating more bacteria!. Holidng wee in can cause a water infection in the first place!. So, on that note, I think you will have to be signed off to make sure you have a speedy recovery!.

You can sign yourself off for a few days but with an infection like that I would suggest that you contact your doctor as soon as possible!. It may only seem like a urinary infection but it could be the symptom of something else and only your doctor or nurse practitioner would be qualified enough to advise you on that!. besides if you see you doctor and he decides that you require time off work then you obviously do and your company can go take a run and jump!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Absolutely, it sounds like you need some treatment for it anyway, so while you are at the doctor get a certificate to get you out of work for a while!. If your job has an issue with it even when you have a doctor's certificate then they arent very nice people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Of course you can! You also need to stop drinking water as it doesn't flush out the toxins and switch to cranberry juice!. that will clear you out and dull the pain some!.
