The vein in my thumb popped out of place... never had that happen before... wtf?!

Question: The vein in my thumb popped out of place!.!.!. never had that happen before!.!.!. wtf!?

I got frustrated studying (calculus!.!.!.!.ya know!)!. I may have open-handedly slapped my text book just as hard as I possibly could!. My thumb immediately started throbbing!. I can now see a blueish-black line which is protruding out!. I think my vein has popped out!. Hurts!. Throbs!. Numbness associated with pressure!.!.!. not such a good feeling!. Anybody have any information on this!? I'm hoping it will heal on its own!. Should I seek medical attention!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
