Answers:
Almost everyone has had a headache some time in life!. If you get them on a regular basis, you may be predisposed to headaches because of your genetics, your perception of life stress, or your body's own metabolism!.
Scientists have yet to completely unravel the cause or causes of headaches!. It was once believed that constriction and dilation of blood vessels caused migraine headache, while muscle contraction caused tension headache!. The constriction of vessels in the head was thought to cause the aura of migraine, as well as the nausea and vomiting!. The subsequent relaxing, or dilation, of the vessels then brought on the pounding pain associated with migraine!.
These changes are still thought to play a big role in head pain, but a much more complicated explanation is beginning to emerge from recent scientific findings!. Many experts now speculate that migraine and tension headache have the same origin in the brain!.
The pain of headache is thought to begin with the trigeminal nerve, which is located in the brain stem!. The largest in the head, this nerve carries sensory impulses to and from the face!. When stimulated, perhaps by a certain headache trigger, it releases a burst of neurotransmitters (chemicals that pass impulses from one nerve to the next)!. This, in turn, normally prompts release of yet another neurotransmitter called serotonin!.
Although everyone's situation is different, there are several factors that are almost universal when it comes to bringing on a headache!. In a recent study, 199 chronic headache sufferers filled out a questionnaire about the conditions that they experienced just before a headache!. The results show us that the most frequently cited precipitating factors were, in order of frequency: Anxiety,Glare, Noise, Anger!.
The best way for you to control your headaches is to determine what triggers them!. Here are some other factors known to trigger headaches: Emotions, Eating and sleeping patterns, Diet, Medications, Environmental factors, Hormones, Physical exertion!.
My doctor suggested I keep a "headache" diary listing foods I had eaten, situations at the time of onset, frequency, etc!. Discuss it with your doctor if you are having a lot of headaches!. It could mean something serious (not usually)!. He/she can help you figure out what is causing the headaches and suggest a helpful treatment plan!.

The first thing you need to do is visit a doctor to make sure there is no underlying and dangerous condition that could be causing the headaches, or even something that can be medically managed (such as migraine)!.

However, in the meantime, you can reduce your caffeine intake, make sure you drink plenty of water, get plenty of rest, eat right, and exercise regularly!. Also, it helps to have yourself on a regular wake/sleep cycle (even on the weekends) and eat meals around the same time every day!.

Neck, head, and shoulder massage are really good for relieving tension headaches, as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If they are really that bad, go see your Doc!., they can be signs of brain tumors, anurism, brain swelling, eye pressure or vision problems you don't notice!. If you believe they are just regular headaches, then you really need to stretch and excersise, drink LOTS of water/gatorade (yellow is the most hydrating,) and leaning to meditate couldn't do you any harm!. Good Luck and Take Care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
