Whats causing this stabbing pain????!

Question: Whats causing this stabbing pain!?!?!?!?
i just read another person question and it refers to the same problem i have!. I get this stabbing pain like knife stabbing pain right between the top rib and chest and it happens at different times and only last maybe 10 seconds then goes away and you feel like nothing ever happened!. Im a female and im 19yrd old!. Ive been told before its probably heartburn but im 19 and have never had heartburn from eating or drinking anything in my life! Someone told the other person it may be cancer and another said they work in a hospital and get to the hospital right away!. So at this point i am seriously freaking out! Somebody tell me what it is not what you think it could be but in reality ur taking a wild guess!!!! And i know i need to go see a doctor but im hoping theres a nurse or something out there that can tell me!. And i dont have any medical problems!. Im so freaked out because cancer omg !. My mom died of that but it was melanoma and i have precancer melanoma before so yea somebody answer!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This could be your gallbladder!. I am a nurse and have seen many gallbladder attacks and have had them myself, and the symptoms you describe are similar to what I have seen and have had myself!. I had my gallbladder removed when I was in my twenties!. It is not unusual to be young and have to have your gallbladder removed!. Most of the time now days they can do laproscopic surgery and only make 4-5 small incisions and it is outpatient so you go home the same day!. You should definitely go to your doctor and be checked out!. I hope this helps you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hey its the 15 year old girl!.!.!.!. thats having the same problem as you

after reading my answers i kinda freaked out, but reading yours kinda makes more sense to me!.!.!.!. i told my dad and he said it might have been the cartilage or a pulled muscle up there somewhere!.!.!. (even though i insist its coming from inside and a "knife stabbing outward") but im not going to worry about it

it started as a small pinch a few days ago but if it continues i'm going to tell my dad to get me checked out because i'm physically active everyday in sports and i don't need an injury or "illness"!.!. but i'm glad im not like the only one experiencing this problem (@ 3 in the morning) but let me know if you find out anything!.!.!. sorry i cant help !.!. thats why im asking the same question :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cancer probably wouldn't show up as a stabbing pain, even lung cancer usually starts out as a cough!. And melanoma is skin cancer, and with that you'd notice abnormal moles on your skin!. You wouldn't be getting stabbing pains in your chest!.

So first of all, breathe!. Because you're getting yourself worked up and whatever is going on is getting exacerbated by your freak out!.

Second of all heartburn can happen to anyone regardless of age!. It's just stomach acid that's churning around and going back up your esophagus, it's not a "middle-age" disease!. I'm 22 and take daily medication for heartburn, as does my 25 year old brother!. That being said, try drinking a glass of milk (if you can, I personally am lactose intolerant) and see if it helps neutralize the stomach acid!.

You could also have pulled a muscle, and it's in spasm, in which case, you could try taking some anti-inflammitories!. A friend of mine (who is a nurse) went to the emergency room with chest pain and they did all sorts of tests to see if she was having any cardiac related problems, but it was inflammation of the costal-area (the cartilage that holds your ribs to your sternum)!.

There are a million and one things it could be and almost all of them completely benign!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
