When my bf did his ankle rest was a must do, ice packs are ok for the 1st few days to help bring out brusing but that it really!. after about a week of rest he was told to start walking and stuff but he had crutches to help with this!. all in all it took approx!. 6 weeks before he could walk/ gentle jog on it!.
you'll just need to R!.I!.C!.E it up at the moment!!

Rest it the only way forward for this, I wouldn't advice putting anything on it but if it does continue to hurt a little bit of deep heat may help, but stay away from the sun!.
Try not to take pain killers as that will numb it too much and you may walk on it causing more damage!.
I had the same thing and I was back on my feet in a week!.
Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Have you not been to the hospital to have the torn ligament stitched back!? Rest!. Do not do any stretching, as it will make matters far worse!.
When your Doc says that it is time to have physio then will be the right time to stretch etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
