Answers:
This happened to me before too!. Has she breathed in any chemical substances such as bleach, peroxide, etc!? Abs workout can cause discomfort in the ribs when breathing if it's not done properly!. This should go away within a day, drink lots of fluid and tell her to rest and breathe slowly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

She probably slightly dislocated her rib!. If it hurts so badly that she can barely breath because of the pain, it's mostly likely been dislocated or knocked out of place!. This has happened to me, and i was crazy with pain!. If she can breath fine and it's just sore, its most likely muscles or she might have bruised the rib a bit when doing her ab workout!. Tell her to take some tylenol and lie down, if it doesn't get better by tomorrow then take her to a chiropractor!. Hope she's ok!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it could very well be the fact taht your mom did abs yesterday if she doesnt work out on a daily basis this will happen its not so much her ribs its the muscles on her sides that hurt

i have down works outs and the next couple days i hurt really bad i hardly work out and i was told that straining your body to do things its not use to can casue pain
