If you haven't already, try a natural keyboard with a wrist rest, and sit in a chair with arms!. The natural keyboard (which I use) doesn't force you to twist your wrists inward while typing, and the wrist rest keeps you from having to hold your wrists up!. A chair with arms supports your forearms, which also takes pressure off your wrists!. Give yourself a rest from typing every 15 min!. or so and let your arms dangle at your sides, which will improve blood flow and relieve nerve pressure!. I have carpal tunnel and these things help me a great deal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Sit upright!. Let your arms drop and then place your forearms at the horizontal!. The keyboard should be at that level!. As far as your left hand - here's a facinating bit of trivia!. When the typewriter was first invented, people could type faster than the machine could keep up!. So multiple keys would jam together!. The inventor decided that he coulnd't make his machine type any faster!. So he had to slow the typist down!. He did that by putting the most used letters on the LEFT side of the keyboard so that the weaker hand would be used and that would slow things down!. As a result, about 70% of the keys that you use are on the left!. That's why your left hand is developing carpal tunnel syndrome (that' the burning sensation) and overuse (that's the pain in your forearm!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com
First, type less, if possible!. Second, allow your wrists to rest on something, and keep your forearms level and just above the keyboard!. Third, try using a split keyboard (like a Microsoft Natural Keyboard) that allows you to type without bending at the wrist; this can make a big difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
