If the hand is swollen and hurts that much it is best not to play!. Even if you have no fracture, you could cause damage to other tissues such as muscles and tendons that may have gotten injured, delay healing and you will not perform well!. Many hand fractures don't show up on x-ray right after the injury anyway, especially if there is much swelling!. Return to sports should not be based soley on the X-ray results!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is quite difficult to fracture a bone in the hand since these are small and compact!. My best advice is you have a dislocated bone which is a common injury!. Unfortunately, I don't think you will be able to play for the next several days!.

If you had the injury within the past two days, try submerging you hand in cold water to ease the swelling!. If its been longer than two days, alternate submertion in cold-then warm water will be better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your coach sees your hand, I'm sure he/she will tell you to sit out!. You wouldn't be much help to your team!. If you say that it's painful to grasp things and if it's really that swollen, then how are you going to wear your baseball mitt or wrap your hand around the ball to throw it!? I would sit out of the next game and wait for the results to come back before playing again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Even if it's not broken, you don't need to play on Monday!. It could get hit again and you could put your hand in a even more, possible worse position!. Sorry, but you have to sit out of the next game until you get your results!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Something similar happened to my sister when playing softball!. Her hand, in that case, wasn't broken, however, I think playing would be a bad idea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't try to play until you find out
what you've done to your hand, I
thought most x-rays came back
within the hour, so why tuesday !?Www@Answer-Health@Com

i wouldnt play until it healedWww@Answer-Health@Com

i dont think you should playWww@Answer-Health@Com
