Sudden pain in my ankle...please advise?!
Question: Sudden pain in my ankle!.!.!.please advise!?
Thank you for your time, I have had my share of sprained ankles and have sprained one so bad once I should have broken it!. So I know that pain and this is different!. It started randomly a couple days ago and when I bend my ankle to walk normally I get this stabbing awful pain and it is worse when I have been off of it for a while, when I walk without bending my foot nothing hurts!. I looked at web MD and nothing seemed fitting to the pain I am having!. It is completely random and feels like someone just stuck a hypodermic needle in my ankle pressing against the bone!. I haven't done anything unusual, haven't changed my shoes, socks, walked funny, or even so much as tripped on anything!. I can not figure it out and I work on my feet so I have to do something and nothing I have tried helps!. When I rotate and pop my ankle it is a temporary fix that feels like it is taking the pressure off, if that makes sense, but that feeling does not last for very long!. Does anyone have any ideas!? Your description fits several problems, at least!. Plantar fasciitis is a common one that people that stand for work have problems with!. Another is as you mentioned, heel spurs!. Feels like walking on a butter knife when you get up in the morning!. Another one is a side effect of spraining your ankle so many times--you can have an unstable ankle and the bones get out of alignment!. You can also get arthritis in your ankle although your level is pain seems too high for that!. A podiatrist or orthopedist will be able to best help you!. Since your job involves standing, I suggest you find the time to get to a doctor or walk in clinic and have them give you a proper exam!. It could be something has penetrated your skin without leaving a mark and is jabbing into nerves, but not consistently!. This sounds a little too complicated for Answers, so see the professionals!.
