What do you do to keep mosquitoes away?!

Question: What do you do to keep mosquitoes away!?
I've been attacked by mosquitoes the last few days (in Hong Kong) mosquito repellent spray, insense sticks, electric fly swatter didn't do the job - but I heard the juice of lemons do a good job so I rubbed some on m legs and arms and it seems to work

do you have your own techniques/methods, I would love to know!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
mossie nets impregnated with long term (residual) insecticide is what is recommended!. Won't be much use in the day time or when you are not sleeping!.

mosquito coils sort of work if you have enough of them burning!. traditionally, coastal villagers would build a small smoky fire under the house (built on stilts with a floor of palm slats!.) coconut shells and husks give an almost bearable flavour to the smoke!. But I could never figure out which was worse the mossies or the smoke! The lotion or roll on repellants work a bit better than the spray on ones, but if you are hot and sweaty, none of them work!.

Mossies 'smell' the CO2 from your body, and 'see' the heat of your skin!. Other odours from your body also attract them!. Some people are more attractive to them than others!. I have an associate who they just love!. So when its mossie time I don't mind walking with him as he attracts them all and they leave me alone!. Maybe you could find some one like that and stick close to them!?

It is worth remembering that 90% of mossies live and die within 50m of where they hatched and spent their laval stages!. So go around your neighbourhood and make sure all mossie breeding sites are well drained!. No stagnant water = no mossies! A tin can with a bit of water in it is enough, so clear out any rubbish, clean the gutters etc!. Also use a residual insecticide (Surface spray) on outside walls, inside walls etc as that will reduce the numbers fairly quickly!.

Good luck, the little monsters are tricky!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I live in a tropical country so the mozzies are abundant here!. All I can say is that you make sure you wear a personal insect repellent!. Like the one on this site:

I guess there are other brands out there but so far it's the only thing I use!.

Also don't wear any sweet-smelling perfumes or lotions like the flowery or fruity ones!. Bugs tend to be attracted to them!.

Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
