Question: I can't sleep! Anyone got any tips!?

Depends on the problem really!.

There may be a number of issues regarding sleep loss, disregarding this for the moment, here are some of my tips!.

1) Routine: Have a bed time routine!. Do the same thing every night before you go to bed, this will help your body to recognise that it should be preparing for sleep!.
2) A bath before bed every night will help you relax!.
3) No stimulants before bed!. No caffeine products at all for a few hours beforehand!.
4) Make sure you have the same wakeup time every day!. Be consistent about your wakeup time!. Don't sleep on if you can during the day, make sure you wake at the same time, even at weekends!.
5) Read before you go to sleep!. Do not lie there tossing and turning, this will only make you anxious to sleep and defeat the purpose!. If you cannot sleep after about ten minutes, pick up your book and starting reading again!. Resist the temptation to get up and do something as this will charge up your body again and make it harder to get back to sleep!.
6) No eating after 6 p!.m!.

These are methods that helped me over the years!. As to the underlying reasons, if this problem does persist, do go see a doctor!. You may be under stress, a little depressed or whatever!. If these aren't dealt with in some way your problem may persist, so do go see a doctor if this is the case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, usually, when you can't sleep, you are often thinking a little too much which won't let you sleep!. Try repeating only one sentence in your head!. That way, you won't be thinking so much!. Try thinking: "My eyes are ____" <--fill in the blank with a color!. Such as "My eyes are gray!." This helps me fall asleep when I can't!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depending on what is keeping you up there are a various amount of solutions!.

If it's burden/stress/fear/anxiety
Try imagining whatever is bugging you; picture it in on your back, and then shake it off!.

If it's just plain not being able to fall asleep, avoid drugs as much as possible (they develop dependency)!. Persistance pays off; if you lay in your bed long enough, and don't move, let your mind wander!.!.!. eventually; you'll fall!.!.!.!.

Well, first of all, you've got to get off the computer! And if you can get to a store, I totally recommend a Melotonin supplement!. It's a cheap all natural sleeping aid, will put you to sleep in about an hour without any hangover or side effects the next day!. As a matter of fact it works so well that its actually prescribed in some other countries!. My doctor recommended this stuff to me and I love it! I also find sleeping in a cool room and counting backwards from 100 works well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is this stuff called sleepytime tea, u can get it anywhere, it has a little bear on the front!. Works wonders You could also drink warm milk, that helps!. You're not supposed to smoke before bed or eat anything they can keep u up for a long time!. You can look online for some tips, i know the feeling, good luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with komputamuso!. Also, I might consider warm milk and cookies!. The warm milk has tryptophan in it, and the cookies contain carbohydrates to help deliver the tryptophan to the brain!. Just a thought!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have the same prob i sumtimes get a glass of water or use less covers, if that doesnt work i sleep on the floor, i dont know why THAT helps though it just doesWww@Answer-Health@Com

try to use some chloroform, if you dont know what it is, its a type of liquid that puts you to sleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
