Is it dangerous to have a splinter in your finger and leave it there?!
Question: Is it dangerous to have a splinter in your finger and leave it there!?
I got a splinter from a clean piece of wood!. It's very deep in and I don't want to go through the hassle of removing it!. Will the wood chip just dissintegrate or willl it infect my finger!? If it will infect my finger, what's a virtually painless way to remove it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it is as large as your note sugests, it needs to come out!. It will not simply disintegrate and will likley lead to an infection!.
Use a sterile needle to expand the tissue around the splinter and then use a fine pointed tweezers to pull the splinter out!. Treat the wound then with bacitracin or the like and you'll be good to go!.

most splinters if really deep, will work their way out of your skin!. just keep the entry point clean, it will be sore for a few days, but the soreness will go away!. the splinter will work its way out enough to see a point, and you can grab it with the tweezers!. but if its really deep, it could take a few weeks or a little longer to work its way out!. just keep the area clean and youll be okay!. otherwise youll have to use a needle to pry it out, which could be a bit painful!. good luck ^^Www@Answer-Health@Com
Go to a Doctor or hospital and have it removed!. If it remains it will become infected and may cause a more serious dilemma!. When did you have your last Tetanus shot !? If longer than 5 years ago then you need a shot straight away!. There is no such thing as a clean piece of wood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I would try to take it out!. Ask someone to help you!. Use tweezers or a needle!. Ouch, but it will heal! If you leave it in it will bother you alot longer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
