Question: Possibly infected cut !?
About a week and a half ago, i stepped on a piece of glass and tore my foot open!. It removed part of the skin and began to gush blood, and eventually stopped!.!.!.!.!. now i have been treating it with hot water, antiseptic liquid and abrasion covers but the edges of the gash are red, and the cut itself will not seem to heal!.!.!.!.!. are there anyways of helping it heal and destroy a possible infection !?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

That kind of cut where it is deep and jagged and on your foot and also involving glass is a high set-up situation for tetanus!. Even if you are up-to-date on your immunization of tetanus, you will probably need another shot, just because of the depth and type of injury and the high risk that the clostridium germs (which release the tetanus toxin that cause the paralysis) could be involved!. You should see a doctor very soon!.
Also, because of the depth of the cut and the fact that it is not healing, could mean that it is infected!. Also, if there are pieces of skin that do not have blood supply, those are going to make it more difficult for the tissue surrounding it to heal properly!.
One thing that will help is to soak your foot in warm salty water for about 10-15 minutes several times a day!. But if there is an infection deep in the tissue, this will probably not be enough and you may need some antibiotics!.
