If you're young and healthy, you're an anesthesiologist's dream!. We are so used to taking care of old people with heart disease and all sorts of problems, that you'll be a treat!.

Yes, you'll wake up, but not until the surgery is done!. You'll get pain medicine while you're asleep, so you should wake up pretty comfortably!.

We take tonsils out of people of all ages!. It's easier for little kids, but you'll do fine!.

Relax!. You'll be in good hands!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The worst thing you can do is stress yourself out!. Try to be as calm as you can!. I know of someone who got their tonsils out after 30 yrs old and they were apprehensive too but came through it just fine!. Just re-assure yourself things will be fine!. You will be sore for a few days after and just try to rest your throat and yourself and take it easy!. The anaesthesia is scary but you will wake up and be fine!. Good luck and god bless you!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'll be fine, I've never had surgery before either and I think it's natural for everyone to worry about it!.!.!.!.I find that people in my family and also friends who've had surgery, really aren't worried about it anyone - having gone through it, so I think it's a first-timer thing!. I would just talk to my anesthesiologist and let them know you're worried - My sister had her tonsils out when she was 25 and had no problems with the anesthesia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Certainly you will wake up post anesthesia!. Your throat will be very sore when you wake up, but I'm sure they will give you pain medication!. It is important to drink fluids even though your throat is sore!. Fluids will help to heal it!. A tonsillectomy is a relatively minor surgery and as long as you do as you are told, it should go smoothly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should be thankful there is anesthesia, they'll put you out and in about five minutes, the surgery will be over!. I don't even know if they put you out with Penathol, they might just give you an IV Sedative, and once you are awake, they'll give you some ice cream and jello and juice!. You'll be just fine!. Just eat soft foods and drink lots of cool water for a few days, and you'll wonder, why was I so worried, nothing to it!. Good luck young man!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is complete non-sense about it being deadly after turing 15!. Nonsense!

As for the anaesthesia, this is how it will likely go!. They will put in an IV you will start to feel a bit floaty/funny and then you will wake up groggy!. I have had four surgeries and that is pretty much how they have all gone!. It really is no big deal!. You feel kinda cruddy for the rest of the dead, but thats about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont worry, its a simple operation! Just remember doctors do these surgeries EVERYDAY!!!! I had open heart surgery 2 years ago (im 37)!. and I was scared to death! I asked them to put me to sleep prior to going in OR, and they did!. And Im getting another surgery in 2 weeks, much minor thank god, and I have no fear!. You will be just fine! Take care and get well soon! And I had my tonsils out when I was 5, so if I could do it (and im a BIG BABY!), you can too!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

hey dont worry as long as you dont have any health problems yo should be fine!. The doc are great at what they do!. dont be nervouse!. they'll only give you the correct dosage for you according to your weight/height!.!.!.!.It'll be quick once they put yo too sleep by the time you know it'll be done!.!.!.fast, quick, and easy!.!.!.Dont worry!.!.!.!.!.!.even littles toddlers are fine after a tonsillectomy!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

dude i had mine tooking out a month ago and im 16 and im still perfectly fine nothing to worry about you just will be a little drousy amd have to eat soft food i think at least thats what i did so just relax u got nothing to worry aboutWww@Answer-Health@Com

Who in the world told you something so stupid as "it's deadly if you're over 15"!? People say things that they can't back up--did you even question that statement!? They wouldn't have been ABLE to back it up because it's completely false!.

You should have asked your doctor about all this so that you're calm about what you're going to have done!. You can still talk to your parents about your fears!. That's my advice: Talk to your parents!.

I expect you will wake up!. Millions of people have anesthesia every day, even old people in poor health, even infants who are rushed from labor and delivery to the surgery suite!. They wake up!. If there was any abnormal risk where there was any likelihood that you would not wake up the hospital wouldn't let the surgery take place!. Did you ask anyone about the whole procedure with the anesthesia!? Someone stands at the head of the operating table the whole time, watching the gauges and dials and reading your respiration rate and blood oxygen and all that!. It's cool!. Think about this--even cojoined twins who undergo surgery that takes like 24 hours wake up!. You're agonizing over nothing!.

Talk to your parents!. Then get a good night's sleep!. Trust your doctors to do their jobs!. Having your tonsils out is about as routine as it gets!. You'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is normal to be apprehensive about having anesthesia because there can be complications!. However, that is why it is very important to be totally honest with your anesthesiologist or the doctor that will be determining what type of anesthesia to use on you, how much you will, need,e tc!. If you or any of your family members have ever had problems during surgery with anesthesia or any complications after the surgery due to the anesthesia agent you need to tell the doctors!.

Usually, your doctor will order a medication for you before you go into the surgery suite that will help you relax and most people are asleep while they are still in the pre -operative area (before the surgery starts)!. If not, most doctor's will tell you they are starting the anesthesia medication and tell you to count backwards from 10!. Most people are asleep within a few numbers!. While the surgery is being performed, an anesthesia professional -- either a doctor or a nurse that has special training that works under the supervision of the doctor will be monitoring your vital signs the entire time you are under the anesthesia!. You should also discuss your concerns with the doctor that is doing the surgery if you have any!. They should discuss with you any possible complications that may occur with a tonsillectomy and should be able to answer any questions you may have!.

After the surgery is completed and the anesthesia professional brings you back out from under the anesthesia, you will go to an area that is called the recovery area!. You are monitored very closely by recovery room nurses and if anything appears to not be occuring normally, they will contact your doctor!.

Hope this helps you feel better about having the surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
