Question: My brothers eye lid is swollen and red, is it better to put a hot or cold patch on it!?
He thinks it may be an infection!. He wore his contacts all night!. He can't go to the doctor!. Is there anything he can take or use that will help it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If there is an infection, heat will help!. I'd suggest he use warm water to attempt to irrigate the eye and eyelid!.
Wearing your contacts all night will not necessarily cause an infection, still, if he thinks he has an eye infection, he needs to see a Dr pronto!.

If it's itchy, it could be a simple allery, but most likely pink eye (especially if there is no tearing {as in the sense of crying})!. Pink eye is wicked contagious!. He should wash his hands every time he touches his eye!.
For this and for a small eye infection, I believe you can get erthromycin eye ointment over the counter, and the cost is minimal!. In the meantime he shouldn't wear his contactssss!.
