What is wrong with my bellybutton piercing?!

Question: What is wrong with my bellybutton piercing!?
So, in the last 2 weeks or so, my belly button piercing has been acting up!.

A fleshy mass underneath the lower ball has protruded, and I have no idea what it is!. It's bright red tissue, that occassionally bleeds!.

I was going to call my piercing - but they're closed for the time being!.

I researched this, and I think it is hypertrophic scarring!.!. but is only having the piercing for a month a long enough time for hypertrophic scarring to occur!?

Any help or advice would be appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
hi,
i had the same problem with my bellybutton ring!. is the mass kind of like a big pimple!? Like does it just bleed or is there puss coming out too!?

with my bellybutton ring, i got an infection because i cleaned mine with q-tips!. if the tiniest piece of cotton gets in there you can get a major infection!. the person who pierced mine failed to tell me that!.

what i did was this:
1: if you can, take the ring out and soak it in hydrogen peroxide!.
2: if the bump is producing puss as well, you want to get it out of there, i know it's gross but squeeze it and make sure you get all of it!.
3: clean the bump with hydrogen peroxide!.

make sure you do this at least twice a day!. the person who pierced my bellybutton told me not to use hydrogen peroxide, but you need to get rid of the germs and try to dry out the infection!. and never, ever, use q-tips or cotton balls to clean it!.
just take care of it and it should clear up in no time!.!.!.mine did!.

hope it helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
