If it feels like something different than cramps but you're having the LL abdominal pain in monthly cycles!.!.!. maybe not during, but in correlation to your menstrual cycle then you definitely want to ask your OB/GYN about Endometriosis!. It's very common, and is usually diagnosed in the 20's-30's!. It's not serious enough to be fatal, however it IS serious if you want to have children eventually!. If left untreated, Endometriosis can leave you sterile!. {30%-40% of women with Endometriosis (medically treated or untreated) become infertile!.
Basically, Endometriosis is: a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (the endometrial {plural} stroma and glands, which are normally located inside the uterus) is found elsewhere in the body!. The tissue turns into lesions, causing the most common symptom of Endometriosis which is pelvic pain!. Normally, the pain starts as mild and sparse discomfort and progresses into severe pelvic pain that can be debilitating in some cases!. Endometrial pain can also reveal itself as pain with intercourse, pain with bowel movements, leg pain and lower back pain!. The most common areas for the Endometrial lesions to adhere to are on the (not inside) ovaries, the fallopian tubes, and on the pelvic sidewall!. Other common sites include the uterosacral ligaments (ligaments behind the cervix), the cul-de-sac (the space between the rectum and the uterus), and in the rectal-vaginal septum!. {Rare locations include the bladder, on the skin, even in the lungs, spine, and brain!.} If you or/and your GP (regular doctor) think you might have Endometriosis it is important that you find a good OB/GYN who is right for you, one that you can communicate to openly and easily, one whom you feel comfortable with, and most importantly a doctor who answers any and all questions that you have about your medical concerns!. Even if you don't think you have Endometriosis, you should do that :) Before you go to your appt!. with your OB/GYN, you should educate yourself about the disease as much as possible!. The more you know about the disease, the better you and your doctor can communicate and therefore treat you better!. If you really want your doctor to take your pain seriously (some doctors dismiss or misdiagnose Endometriosis as regular menstrual cramps) here is a link to a list of questions you could print out and answer and then hand to your doctor:

In the meantime, advil and heating-pads help, they work wonders for me! I hope this helps good luck! Hopefully you don't have endometriosis!.!.!. and I apologize for making my answer so long! But knowledge is power!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi There,

The most likely cause is trapped wind!.
If the pain is sharp, and started near your belly button but moved, it could be appendicitis!.
If you are female, it may be a fallopian tube infection!.
(If it is you may need to have it drained)

If the pain is extermely sore, I advise you phone your doctor immediately, as appedicitis can be dangerous if unattended!.

Hope this helps, and hope you feel well soon
