Small veins, large veins, wobbly veins, straight veins!.!.!.we're all different and perfectly normal!

I've taken blood for over ten years now and I've come across all kinds of veins!

Some people you can take blood from easily and others are more of a challenge!. It's unfortunately a simple fact of life!.

The skill of the person who takes the blood comes into play too!. Some people are just better at taking blood than others!.

Dropping your arm below heart level does help, as does putting a warm pack on your arm!. You shouldn't really 'pump' your fist as usually told, as believe it or not this can actually interfere with certain blood tests!. Instead just clench your fist tightly!. And relax if possible!. Patient's who are anxious and tense are always harder to bleed!.

But honestly, it's nothing to worry about!. Small veins are just fine:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It just means you have small veins!. It's a normal thing, everybody is different!. You may also be a little bit dehydrated too!. I find with myself if I stay hydrated my veins pop out, or if I've just been exercising!.

There are a couple thing you could do!. If you know when you're going to get blood drawn, try squeezing your hand into a fist for a few minutes, this can sometimes encourage blood flow to make the veins stand out on your hand!.

You also should keep that hand lower then your heart, (gravity helps :D) and if possible, apply a hot pack or warm towel!. We do these tricks all on the ambulance all the time when we're having trouble finding veins!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Quite simply, your veins could be deeper in your arm than others!. No reason to worry as it poses no health risk, but is a problem when a draw is required!.
Best thing to do is relax and look away as the doctor does his/her thing :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
