Taking a smoke break?!
Question: Taking a smoke break!?
Do you think its fair for someone who smokes to go out every 30 mins at work and take a 10 min break to smoke and for those who dont smoke dont get a break!. Fair or Not!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
No!. Smoke breaks should be reserved for lunch breaks and any allotted 15 minute breaks that employers allow!.
A ten minute break every half hour for a cigarette is unfair to the staff who don't smoke, not to mention excessive!!!
One short break per four or 5 hour shift, or two 15 minute breaks and one half hour lunch for anything above 7 hours is usually considered the norm!.
I realize it's hard for smokers to go extended periods without that fix sometimes!. However they should NOT be allowed more break time than other employees who are non-smokers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should be able to do whatever you want as long as you're not too disruptive and you're getting a reasonable amount of work done for your pay rate!. I think there are a lot of issues like these in the workplace that should be addressed!. For example if a worker feels like eating some candy should they be allowed to take ten minutes off to rest every thirty minutes and eat candy!? Who REALLY should be getting paid more for what they do!? The fat cats who take those smoko's or the poor laborers and counter assistants who can't even stand around for a few seconds without getting targeted for thier "poor performance"!? Unfortunately it's the fat cats and the higher ups who decide these things, but you can always get a bunch of people together and complain if it really bothers you!. I wouldn't do it if this person is in charge of you though or they could make the workplace a living hell!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
As a smoker, I will say NO!.
First of all, if you're breaking every 30 minutes you're not getting much work done!.
A good compromise would be one break between start and lunch and one break between lunch and stop!. AND everyone should get that break - regardless of how you use it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, that's not at all fair and that crap gets on my nerves too!. I'm a smoker, and when I work I take the same amount of breaks as everyone else!.!.!. I just smoke then!. I hate it when people think they have to go smoke 3 times an hour!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Depends on the nature of the business and how many customers the business deals with on a daily basis!. If it does not affect any of the other employees in an adverse manner, then no!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
No, that is why I quit a job after only 1 week because they kept going outside smoking and told me I bet u wish u smoked! So I quit! I will not work with people like that who take advantage of me because I dont smoke! I dont get paid enough to do their job and mine as well!Www@Answer-Health@Com
