Back to the emergency room?!
Question: Back to the emergency room!?
My 21 year old son cut his thumb at work on Thursday He lives 700 miles away from me but I'm still the one he calls for advice!.
He took a photo of his thumb with his phone while he was in the ER waiting for the dr, links for photo and blow up of injury below!.
The doctor didn't suture it, he asked my son if he had insurance and when he told him no insurance the doctor cut the loose tissue away, bandaged it up and sent my son on his way!. I told my son all he had to do was tell the doc it was a work injury but that's beside the point!. This morning it's hurting like mad and fresh blood has soaked through the dressing!. I feel he should go back to the ER but am not sure if I'm over reacting because this is my "baby" and I feel so helpless not being able to take care of him!.

Hmm not a doctor but that looks pretty nasty!. I would tell him to go back!. It might need stitches!.!.like I said not a doctor but a mom who understands! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
It doesent look that bad!. I once saw a guy who cut the tip of his index finger off!. He never went to the docor and it healed fine!. The only thing he should worry about is an infection, maybe he should go to a walk in clinic and get some antibiotics and pain killers!. Also, it would be good to see what they say about it!. Maybe he does need stitches!. Its always good to get a second opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

erm if they have cut the lose skin away that means there basically just a gap where that skins been took away :S
so i think it will take awhile to heal!
he needs to keep changing his bandage and make sure it doesn't get infected,
but i think no one will do anything if the first doc turned him away after not doin much as he no insurance!. :S
although i always better to be safe than sorry so yer i think i could be a good idea to go back and see if he can get seen again if he in alot of pain!
and if nothing again just hope for the best but if it get infected go to docs again and hope they will do summit 3rd :S
