I know exactly how you feel!. I was seriously abused as a child and every day at home someone was yelling at someone else!. On an average day we'd be putting our fists through the walls making holes, hitting and kicking holes in the doors until we just ripped the things off the hinges!. We learned the abusive behavior from mom who beat us with cords from appliances, belts, an iron, sticks and other stuff but when we would have black and blue marks she told us if we told anyone she'd kill us!.

That anger carried over to our adult hood!. I took a year of anger management with a facilitator who was more angry than anyone in the group and was the most angry man I had ever met, didn't learn anything from the guy!. Now that I am married I never hurt my wife in any way, not even with words!. I don't even argue with her!. I've taught myself ways to deal with my violent temper!. I thought that taking karate would teach me dicipline but it just made me meaner!.

When I get angry I use a shopping list of differant things to deal with it!. Here is a small list of the things I do which seems to work for me:

1!. Jog two miles
2!. Walk away from the thing making me angry
3!. Punch my spar dummy with karate moves
4!. Meditate
5!. Take a walk through woods and observe things in nature
6!. Ride my bike 20 miles
7!. Lift weights until I collapse
8!. Go fishing
9!. Go mountain climbing/hiking
10!. Find a deserted place and scream your head off
11!. Watch comedy movies on DVD
12!. Tie a balloon to the cats tail
13!. Pray, God helps me deal with my anger
14!. Sing, this helps get out the anger
15!. Play one of my 5 guitars

I do not drink, smoke or use drugs, all of which are a bad idea to do when angry!. The first thing to do about the anger is to remove yourself from the person/thing making you angry!. Don't argue, just walk away because words said in anger cannot be taken back!. I live a peaceful life now utilizing these tools!. I use other tools also but can't remember them all right now!.

Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
