A Percocet refill question?!

Question: A Percocet refill question!?
I take Percocet 5mg following back surgery!. I get a 10 supply each time!. My first refill, I filled 1 day early, I first filled it on 5-11!. From that fill date ( the 1 day early on the date of 5-20) I went by the fill date of 5-20 and had it refilled 2 days early due to vacation, on the date or 5-28!. I am now going on the fill date of May 28 and having it filled 2 days early due to vacation again!. Is this going to be a problem!? Will the pharmacy/insurance allow me to fill it according to the fill date or will they go by the fact that I kept filling it early and not allow me to fill it for 3 more days after the fill date because the last 2 refills were early!? Hopefully this made sense!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a licensed Pharmacist!. Dealing with controlled substance fills can be difficult thanks to members of the public who actively use and abuse their doctors, pharmacists and their own bodies!. Constantly allowing early fills depends on the Pharmacist serving you and their professional judgement, since bad decisions may cost them their license, not to mention do harm to their patients!. Early fills may end up being a rationalization to cover up new addition problems, for example!. Generally, they will not allow it, even if it is ok by the insurance company or is being paid in full with cash!.

The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) does have red flags regarding prescription drug abuse and many early fills are one of them!. So is insisting on brand only and paying in cash only!. My advice is to take your triplicate or CII prescription, like for Percocet with you on vacation, and have it filled when it is actually due!. Percocet is a common CII prescription narcotic and all Pharmacies carry it, especially the generic!.

Best of luck,
