Question: Strange question regarding a pencil nib being stuck in my hand 23 years ago!?
About 23 years ago when I was very young, I fell on a pencil adn the nib must have got stuck in my palm!. You can still see it through the skin!. What i am wondering is, could it be causing any harm!? Its quite deep in I think!. I'm asuming its not lead!? It was just a normal pencil!. What do you think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Around 10 years ago I accidentally stabbed myself in the face with a pencil and the tip broke off in my skin!. I don't know about you, but I still feel pretty healthy, haha!. Ever since then I've had a black dot on my face there (you can see it through the layers of skin that've grown over it) but that's pretty much the worst of it!. If it's really bothering you then you could see a doctor (dermatologist!?) about it, but 23 years is a long time to wait to begin worrying :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

The black part of a pencil is graphite - a form of carbon - not metallic lead!. If it's been there 23 years, it's probably not causing too much trouble for you!. I'm no doctor or medical expert, but I would expect that your body has formed a capsule or scar tissue around it to isolate it from the rest of your body, or else just absorbed it, and either excreted it, or put it to use!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm a little surprised that you can still see a mark from the pencil!. But pencil leads aren't made of lead, but of graphite (which is a kind of clay)!. You shouldn't have any complications!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
