Tonsillectomy?!

Well I can tell you about it firsthand!. I got my tonsils when I was 15 only a year ago!. When you go to the hospital they will ask you when you last ate/drank take your weight/height/blood pressure then you will be asked to dress down into a gown!. Then the nurse or whoever will come and put an IV in (either your hand or arm) they might use a numbing medication so you don't feel it!. You will be hooked up to some IV fluids like a saline solution and maybe pain medication just depends!. The anesthesiologist will come in and talk to you about the risks of going under and all that stuff and ask you if you have any questions!. They will then take you to the operating room and you will be asked to get on the operating table or they might wheel you into the operating room and lift you onto the table or they might put you out before you even reach the operating room but when you are in the OR they will have you lay your arms out flat and they will put a blood pressure cuff on one arm and your IV will be in the other!. They will most likely give you a blanket!. Then you will see everyone getting ready while the doctor is giving you anestesia and before you know it you are put under without realizing it!. Afterwards when you wake up from the surgery you will feel incredibly groggy and the nurses will give you a popsicle or something to drink because you have to be able to swallow and keep things down before you get to be released!. If shouldn't hurt too bad because the doctor put numbing medication in your throat before you left the operating room!. They will keep an eye on your vital signs!. Then you will get to see whomever took you to the hopsital!. Once they think you are able to go home you will be wheeled out and taken home!. The next couple of weeks your throat will be sore!. It is possible for bleeding if it bleeds then suck on ice and call a doctor asap!. I wasn't able to eat anything but popsicles for a week or so because everything else was too painful but everyone varies!. You will be given pain medcation probably in liquid form!. Well, first off they will give you a good swig of cheap whiskey, and ask you to gargle!.!.!.swallowing is optional!. Then they will bash you on the toe with a hammer, and while you are screaming, they put a fish hook down your throat and rip out your tonsils, stretching them out to beyond your mouth and snip them off with scissors!. Then they will stuff a big piece of cotton wool down your throat to soak up the blood!. When the bleeding stops they send you home!. You won't feel a thing after the first initial ripping pain!. Umm 1 small needle then its like snip snip and u eat iceream and freezies for a couple hours!. Its actually not that bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
