These are some home remedies for sunburn:

Dip some gauze into milk and apply it to your sunburned skin!. The milk should be about room temperature or slightly cooler but not refrigerator-cold!.
Keep this milk compress on the burn for 20 minutes or so, and repeat every two to four hours!. Since milk can leave skin smelling "sour," be sure to rinse yourself off with cool water afterward!.

Boil some lettuce in water, then strain it and let the liquid cool for a few hours in the refrigerator before applying it to your skin with cotton balls!. Thinly sliced pieces of raw cucumber, potato or apple can be placed on sunburned areas such as the forearm!. The coolness from the vegetables is soothing and might help reduce inflammation!.

Wrapping a bag of frozen corn or peas in a towel and applying it to the burned area also helps cool the pain!. But be sure, to wrap it first, so you don't place the icy package directly on your skin!.

A regular dose of vitamin E is thought to do a host of good, providing protection from a variety of things from heart attack in men to fibroid tumors in women!. It also decreases the inflammation you can get from sunburn!. Good food sources of vitamin E include whole grains such as wheat germ, vegetable oils--especially sunflower and soybean oil--and nuts!.
If you choose to purchase vitamin E supplements, be sure to read the small print: You should get only the natural form!. But check with your doctor before taking vitamin E or other vitamin supplements!.

What about rubbing vitamin E on your skin!? Although you can also treat sunburn with a direct application of vitamin E by opening a vitamin E acetate capsule and rubbing the liquid directly on your skin, it's more effective to take it internally to decrease sunburn pain!.

Soak yourself in diluted vinegar!. Pour one cup of white cider kitchen vinegar into a tub of tepid water and soak yourself in it!. It's very soothing to your skin and helps relieve the pain of sunburn!.

Or try baking soda and cornstarch!. Another recipe for relief, also from the kitchen cabinet: Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/4 cup of cornstarch into a tub of tepid water and soak yourself!.

Heal with oatmeal!. If you find the smell of vinegar or milk too intense, you can wrap dry oatmeal in some gauze or cheesecloth and run cool water through it, suggests Dr!. Haberman!. Wring out the excess water and apply the cloth for 20 minutes every two to four hours!.

While you have sunburn, stay away from highly fragrant bubble baths, soaps, colognes and perfumes!. They may be too drying and irritating to your already parched skin!. Stick with mild soaps and don't scrub too hard when you wash!.

The sunburn won't be the problem as much as the peeling which usually starts 5 to 10 days after a sunburn!. But I agree with the person above me - keep it hydrated and moisturized (with aloe) and don't irritate the skin by scratching it!.

If you're a moderately normal peeler (if your skin normally starts to flake off within 5 to 10 days after a sunburn), try using a good facial and body exfoliant!. Use the exfoliant ONLY AFTER your sunburn has healed and you start to notice the skin flaking!. The exfoliant will help speed the flaking off of the dead skin (but it won't make you peel faster)!. If you're a slow peeler (if you usually peel within 10 to 14 days after a sunburn), just keep it hydrated and moisturized (no exfoliant) for as long as possible, and hopefully you won't start peeling until after graduation!.

By the way, don't stress over it!. The pictures they take at the ceremony are pretty low quality anyway - it probably won't even show up!. And if it does, so what!. You can always go to a photographer later on and get professional pictures made!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drink lots of iced water and get lots of sleep!. Take cool baths with about 5 or 10 tea bags (green tea works best)!. The tannin in the tea helps to soothe the pain and draw out the redness!. Put on lots of aloe vera gel!. Keep it in the fridge if the sunburn is really bad!. Stay out of the heat!. Don't let hot water touch your sunburn!. It makes it much more red!. Put calamine lotion on too!. I don't know why, but it helps, and it soothes the pain a lot too!. Tylenol for the pain is good too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

put some moisturising cream or aloe vera cream on it morning and night after a shower!. try not 2 scratch it or peel it caz it will just make it worse!. after a few days the burning when u touch it will go away and then after a few more days the red will disappear!. so it should all be gone by ur graduationWww@Answer-Health@Com
