Rash after surgery.?!
Question: Rash after surgery!.!?
Ok, here's what happened!. i had knee surgery 9 days ago, and after taking off the immobilizr and putting on a hinged knee brace, I got his rash, and I'm not sure what to do about it!. The brace is clean!. It's just below my knee, it's red and feels like scales!. There is also one on my thigh (under side that feels the same, but I'm not sure what color it is (couldn't get a pic w/ my phone to see!. So!.!.!.uh, any suggestions as to what to do, and maybe what caused this!? I've got my own specilations, but I'd like to hear others!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I say that you need to call the nurses hotline immediatley!. I wouldn't mess around with anything near an open wound!. I think it could be Contact dermatitis!. Caused from what!.!.!. I Don't know!. But the scale part sounds about right!.!. I think you need to go to the doctor and have them check it out!. No need risking anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Possibly a reaction to the tape!.!.!.if they had a surgical tape over the wound!. Some people are very sensitive to it and require other forms of bandaging!.
Scabies is a rash caused by mites burrowing into the skin, but I don't think that's the problem!.
If it spreads or gets warm/hot I'd call the ER doctor closest to you or have your doctor paged!.!.!.
