Answers:
Your arm is probably swelling from the injury that resulted in getting your cast in the first place!. Try getting your swelling down by elevation your arm above your heart for a little while!.

A strong fiber glass cast can be extremely difficult to take off unless you have a cast cutting saw!. Its difficult to remove even with special cast cutting scissors that I'm sure you don't have, trust me I know!. It took me 45 minutes using both arms to cut one off somebody else with cast cutting scissors!. It was extremely difficult!.

Could have never done it on myself!. You will either cut into your arm, disrupt the fracture or damage your cast without being able to remove it!. Then you will have to go the ER anyway!. Even if you manage to cut it off, you will need another one ASAP most likely depending on your fracture!.

Casts do get put on incorrectly sometimes and may need to be fixed!. You should watch out for circulation problems such as the fingers turning blue, or nerves being pinched where fingers start tingling or go numb!. If any of those have started after getting casted, go see someone as soon as possible!.

I know this is not what you want to hear!.

Good luck, hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think it's safe to take it off!.!.!.but if you think you must,
then a small saw!.
Not sure if soaking it in water would soften it or not, i was told not shower with mine, so Im not sure if it's for the fiberglass itself or the lining in it!.!.!.
Also, you can cut it off with bolt cutters and/or wire snips as long as they fit in between the cast and the arm safely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well considering you have a cast on for a reason I'm not going to tell you, I wil tell you this:

1!. get ice put it in a bage and put the bag on top of the cast

2!. fill a container with ice and put your feet in it, this will cool you down, and posb!. stop the swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

oh my goodness!. PLEASE do NOT attempt to take off a cast! You could cut your arm off! It is ok to swell!. the doctor put the cast on loosely enough because he knows that it will swell!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

use a saw, like a slikk saw or a sharp knife but be carefulWww@Answer-Health@Com
