My toe is throbbing. What should I do?!

Question: My toe is throbbing!. What should I do!?
I'm not sure what happend to it!. I think I might have stumped it in the pool last night but I don't remember!. It didn't start hurting til early this morning when the pain woke me up!. I walked around all day and it hasn't bothered me!. I cut the toenail out of the corner thinking that might have been what is causing the pain but now my toe is THROBBING and hurting severely!.

Should I elevate it!?
& Could it be broken (it didn't hurt that bad when i stumped it and it's not bruised or deformed)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
put some ice on it, if broken wrap it up with medical tape with another neighboring toe and place gauz or a cotton ball between it!. this can allow it to get better:)
sit down, elevate it and keep ice on it( not more then 15-20 min!. otherwise other damage can be done!.) leave it on 15 and take it off 15!. just keeeeep itttt eeellleevvvaaattteeddd

also, if it doesnt hurt to the touch its prob not broken, if the joint just hurts when you move it then u prob just jammed it!. i did that to my thumb yesterday ):Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should probably wait till tomorrow!. and if i still is hurting you should probably go get it checked out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
