Hip pain when turning leg out to the side?!

Question: Hip pain when turning leg out to the side!?
I'm a dancer and when I am in any position that turns my leg out to the side (sitting indian style or stretching forward in a straddle stretch for example) I feel a pain in my right hip!. It doesn't feel as if it is a "good" pain as though I am stretching out the muscle, more as if my hip is locking and as if it's going to pop if I push it farther!.

It is not an intense pain!. In fact, the small amount of pain doesn't bother me as much as the fact that it feels it is limiting my range of movement in my hip!. Also, it seems to feel somewhat looser and more mobile after warming up (and sometimes taking an anti-inflammatory) but still not to the level that I feel I used to have several months ago!.

Any ideas what this might be!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its possible that you may have Femoro Acetabular Impingement (hip impingement)!. Another possibility is that you have a spasm in one of the muscles that crosses the hip joint!. This would be solved simply by stretching the muscle in spasm!. I would suggest that you go see an orthopedic doctor to have the hip examined to get a proper diagnosis!. It would not be a good idea to just work through this and hope it gets better on its own b/c if in the unlikely event it is something serious its better to catch is sooner rather than later!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like a groin injury to me!. Anti-inflammatories should help, but try not to stretch or use it too much for a couple weeks!. It won't heal completely unless you completely stop using that part for a while, but you can get on with the slight injury indefinately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my hips lock and pop at least 50 times a day! the doctors don't know what it is or what causes it! but what i do is pop it! i have to, or i wont be able to walk!. when it happens just keep pushing it until it pop's(unless it hurts to much) then it feel's better! at least it does for me!=)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might have messed up your hip flexor, the muscle is loosened out of proportion and thats why you feel the popping feeling coming on, i play football and i messed mine up my junior year, i would feel like i could play but not 100%, i had to take two days off, limit yourself to walking and put healing cremes and massage it a lot, especially deep tissue, use your knuckles it should hurt a little bit when you do it!. Don't take it out of its range of motion for the days when you are resting it, it should get better after that!. If what you mentioned has only been going on for a couple days it might b a bad hip sting, also rest it!.
If it's not that and it still hurts just see a doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com
