Answers:
If she cut herself anywhere on her body, chances are she hit multiple arterioles, capillaries, venules, and veins!. However, these small surface vessels are typically of no major concern, provided that she 1) stops the bleeding by applying a compression device of any type and 2) prevents infection by cleaning it with peroxide/alcohol and then applying an antibacterial ointment (Neosporin or Bactroban) and keeping it covered (bandaid)!.
The major concern in any deep cut is severing an artery!. Arteries, with only one exception (the pulmonary arteries to the lungs) carry oxygenated blood away from the heart and to the rest of the body!. Because these vessels are taking blood to the body, and pulse with the heart rate, they have a higher pressure!. The dangers of severing an artery include, but aren't limited to, losing too much blood and bleeding internally!.
In any cut that isn't bad enough to require stitches, the quick fix is to apply pressure to stop the bleeding, and keep it clean and covered!.
Elevating the affected area above the level of the heart can be of help as well!.
If the bleeding can't be stopped, or if stitches are necessary, get to an emergency room!. Afterall, we live in the United States, she can't be turned away from a hospital due to lack of ability to pay!. It's not necessarily the best system, but it's true!. Uninsured use emergency rooms all the time as their primary care physicians!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
