Question: My cousin fractured his knee, how long will be be unable to walk!?
My cousin was fixing the fence and accidentally pressed the trigger to his nail gun which then sent a nail into his knee!. He had to have emergency surgery to get it removed!. How long can I expect him to be unable to walk!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
It depends on what exactly was fractured and what method was used by the docs to stabilize the fracture!. If he has a cast then most likely b/t 4-8 weeks!. If the fracture was stabilized with pins then it will be less time!. Generally speaking the knee should be fully healed b/t 6-8 weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Hi Alexis,
Your cousin will be his old self in no time! Normally, the only reason surgery is required to remove the nail is because the chance of infection is so great!. If the patella wasn't fractured, he'll probably be in a "walking" cast and be able to move around almost immediately!. Good luck to him!Www@Answer-Health@Com
