Question: Does anyone know if a carpenter ant is detrimental when it bites!?
OKAY, I GOT BIT BY ONE 2 DAYS AGO AND IT HAS BEEN ITCHING TODAY AND IT LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE WELT LIKE A MOSQUITO BITE!. HELP!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take some Benedryl!. The histamine blockers in it will stop the allergic reaction and therefore relieve itching and swelling!.
You can also use a topical ointment of Benedryl just on the bite itself so you don't get the "side effects" like drowsiness from the oral suspension!. If you get stung by bees/wasps, take Benedryl immediately to prevent a bad reaction!. It's good stuff for all kinds of bug bites and stings!. Depending on your reaction would decide whether you need more or less of treatment(oral vs!. topical)
Although an annoyance, carpenter ant bites are nothing compared to fire ants! I had a mound of those beasts living in my yard in Texas! "Fire" is an understatement!!!
