Question: Bruise on my big toes under the nail!?
I am not exactly sure how i got it but it hurts a lot!. I was playing soccer and i felt the pain after I started running a lot!. I think someone stepped on my toe while i tried to steal the ball!. Can it be the cleats Im wearing!? How long will it take to heal because Im planning on playing next weekend as well!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

A bruise under the nail (subungual hematoma) puts pressure on the nail bed!. That's where the tenderness arises!. If you treat it within the first few hours, then you can relieve the pressure and pain!. The usual treatment is to heat the end of a paper clip and burn a hole through the nail, letting the blood flow out and relieving the pressure/pain!. If it's more than a few hours old, then the blood will have clotted, and that won't drain out!. Then, you just have to wait!. Usually, the nail sill be tender for a day or so, then the pain subsides!. So you should be OK and able to play in a week!. It may still be a little tender, so make sure you ice your toe down well after the game!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
